Photos to accompany the INISHEER/BURREN entry

One of those eerily-flat stretches of coastal rock.

A natural, if a bit narrow, stairway in the rock. Neat!

A very, very old holy water font (is that the right word?).

The altar in one of the ruined churches - the older one.

Stacked rocks along the shore. Apparently this is a thing all over the world. I think it's pretty cool, in terms of leaving your mark without ruining something nice. Fun fact: the stack closest to the camera is mine!

Altar at the other ruined church - the one recessed into the cemetery.

The Plassy shipwreck.

Graffiti inside the Plassy.

Rock walls, the likes of which cover the entire island of Inisheer in a bizarre labyrinth.

The Burren! (more or less)

  1. Yeah... I also loved all those serpentine rock walls on Inisheer. I lost track of how many your we had to climb over when we hiked the island.

  2. Hey, it's Marisa, who secretly reads your blog sometimes.

    1. I don't know why I didn't manage to wish you happy birthday on our shared birthday, but happy belated birthday now!

    2. This makes me want to be back in Ireland so badly. I was there the second week in April and it was amazing. Keep having a great time!
